Lets Celebrate Crown Point

After being inspired by Robert Frost, the Senior class composed their own poetry reflecting the Adirondacks.

Many of these original poems will be included in their upcoming brochure titled “Lets Celebrate Crown Point”.

For your pleasure, we have selected two of these poems to highlight in our newsletter.  Enjoy…

Mountains (by Alex Wright)

I live up high

About 1250 above

The mountains are my home

My one true love

The summers are hot

The winters are cold

But I plan on living here

Until I am gray and old

It is peaceful on this mountain

This mountain of mine

It is just me and the trees

Me and the pines

But the Adirondacks are growing

It will be full of people someday

And all our peaceful mountains

Will surely fade away

Adirondack Winter (by Ember Swinton)

Summer Spring Winter Fall

Of course we get hit with the worst one of all

It falls in many layers and sheets

And we are always promised a couple of feet

It covers our houses from ground to rooftop

The snow it seems will never stop

Plows don’t work, shovels are broken

Words of a snow day are hoped to be spoken

Snowmobiles are running, ready to go

But there’s one more thing I’d like you to know

This our home,

Where the snow we don’t lack

Here at Crown Point

In the Adirondacks
